We take you on an extraordinary journey behind the scenes of Africa and present authentic images of the everyday life of the people in Zambia. We show these in the incomparable surroundings of the cells of the former Soeht 7 women’s prison.
“By purchasing a picture, you directly support our work on site and become part of our project! 100% of the proceeds from the exhibition will go towards our work on site, e.g. the purchase of an urgently needed pasteurizer for the hygienic production of healthy milk.” Saskia Czempiel-Bartels, Director of the association Zambesi Health Gesundheit für Mensch und Tier e.V.
What are we currently working on?
Milk is one of the most valuable foods in Africa, especially for malnourished children. However, dangerous diseases are often transmitted from animals to humans through the consumption of raw milk. Hygienically produced and safe milk is therefore particularly important. To prevent diseases such as brucellosis or bovine tuberculosis, many individual steps are necessary in which we provide active support:
- Raising awareness of the various diseases and their transmission routes
- Workshops on milk and milking hygiene
- Improvement of the production and storage process
As part of our project to improve milk hygiene at the cooperative’s milk collection point in Kazungula (Zambia), we have purchased a motorized cargo tricycle as well as metal milking and milk cans to transport the freshly milked milk quickly.
We want to use the proceeds from the exhibition to purchase the urgently needed pasteurizer and a milk bottling machine for this farmers’ cooperative in southern Zambia.
