November/December 2020 – third-party funded project approved, MV 2020, Home for AIDS Orphans – Mwandi

At the end of November, Zambesi Health received the news that the third-party project it had applied for “for funding to purchase pasteurization equipment and provide training for the Kazungula Cooperative” had been approved by the Rotary Foundation. The project, which was jointly applied for by the Rotary Club Weimar and RC Livingstone, can now be realized by Zambesi Health as a cooperation partner. Due to the ongoing travel restrictions, the funds are not expected to be disbursed until they have been lifted.

We will start with the concrete planning of the budgeted installation and conversion work in the Cooperative building at the beginning of 2021.

The annual general meeting of Zambesi Health was held on 21.12. successfully held online as a video conference for the first time. A personal meeting with the members was not possible due to the pandemic, but will be arranged at a later date.

The now established contacts with the organization “Home for AIDS Orphans in Mwandi, Western Province have prompted the Board to support this non-profit NGO with USD 1,000 so that teachers can be paid and teaching materials purchased for the community school it runs.
