TippiTaps

Washing your hands the African way – an innovation without a water connection!

In August 2017, Zambesi Health e.V. organized a successful Tippi Tap construction workshop for dairy farmers in southern Africa. The aim was to improve milk and milking hygiene by washing the milkers' hands. The building instructions were explained step by step, materials were provided and everyone built their own Tippi Taps. Participants received stainless steel milk jugs in recognition. This workshop strengthened the community and promoted milk quality and health. Zambesi Health e.V. continues to promote improved milk and milking hygiene, thanks the participants and emphasizes the value of joint efforts.

Farmers workshop

During the workshop, numerous dairy farmers came together to build the hand-washing stations together with the experts from Zambesi Health e.V.. It was pleasing to see how committed and motivated the participants were to improve hygiene practices in milk production.

The building instructions for the Tippi Taps were explained step by step and all the necessary materials were provided. Under the guidance of the experts and in cooperation with each other, the dairy farmers set up their own Tippi Taps on their barns. It was a great opportunity to share knowledge and strengthen the community.

Improving hygiene

In recognition of their commitment and participation, all dairy farmers who built a Tippi Tap on their kraal received a stainless steel milk jug as a gift from Zambesi Health e.V. on their next visit. These stainless steel milk churns are particularly important as they not only promote milk and milking hygiene, but also improve the quality and safety of our dairy products.

The participants were enthusiastic about the results of the workshop and recognized the added value of the Tippi Taps and stainless steel milk cans for their businesses. They were grateful for the support from Zambesi Health e.V. and were looking forward to using the newly acquired knowledge and tools in their daily work.

This workshop was an important step towards promoting milk and milking hygiene in our region. By building the Tippi Taps and using the stainless steel milk cans, together we will improve the quality of our dairy products and promote the health of our community.

Thanks to

We would like to thank all participants for their active participation and commitment. Special thanks also go to Zambesi Health e.V. for organizing this valuable workshop and providing the materials.

The assembly instructions are not an invention of Zambesi Health. It is freely available on the Internet. Thanks to the unknown inventor!
